The Hong Kong Performing Artistes Guild has mobilize everyone to raise funds for the victims of Sichuan earthquake, Andy Lau was tasked to gathered everyone and also penned the lyrics for the fund raising theme song - Promise, performing in fund raising events and he's also currently preparing to do an on-site visit. However, everything that Andy does still incur allegations and disputes. On the day of the earthquake, the $100,000 that he donated was listed on the charts of donation, with the status of Andy Lau, it's considered a joke that he donated $100,000 as too little. Andy had always been concern of the situation of the earthquake, on Wednesday 28 May 2008 he will go for an on-site visit in Sichuan. When interviewed by Ming Pao Weekly, he said that he had yet receive the approval notice from Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong S.A.R., saving people is most important, he does not wish to create any problems for the local organization, when the time is suitable, he would arrange the artistes for the visit.

On the other side, Andy is currently going through professional mental consulting training. He said that the shrink told him it would be enough just to bring entertainment to the victims, he could play soccer with the children, draw with them, do some simple things to allow them to have a humanity feel, because the victims lost their family members suddenly, even losing humanity. Andy said that the visit is not for show, put up a false show for everyone to see, it's rather to allow the victims to know there are still a group of us whom will face the current situation with them.

Meanwhile, Sammi Cheng was interviewed in a 512 Concern Love Action fund raising activity. She was supposed to set off to Sichuan yesterday but she delayed it till 28 May due to traffic problems, she will then set off together with Andy and Joey Yung. When asked that Andy cried might be due to the reports that he donated too little? She said: "Andy had been putting his best for this matter, even if there's areas that he did not do well or enough, everyone please forgive him, during these period there should not be any negative news."

Ariel Cures Love Pain ~ Looks For New Prospect While Attending Classes

She went to learn wine appreciation had people surprised, she explained, it's because the doctor recommended her mom to drink 100cc grape wine to substitute sleeping pills, so to understand more about wine, as for her drinking level, she laughed: "Just a few cans of beer out, and also diarrhea, not the made to drink."

“Fated To Love You” rating of 8.13 breaks Taiwanese idol drama record

TTV/SETTV “Fated To Love You” rating hits new highs yesterday and set a new record for Taiwanese idol drama with a high rating of 8.13. According to statistic, the number of people who watched TTV’s main channel last Sunday and the two timeslots on SET last Saturday added together reached 10 millions. This means that during last weekend, on average one out of every two people in Taiwan has watched this idol drama. It has become a national activity! SET’s executive vice president Su Li Juan gave out red packets of 200 thousands prize money as bonus. When Ethan Ruan received news of the ratings yesterday, he immediately called Chen Qiao En. However, the first words Chen Qiao En’s said are: “Ah! Then I must call Ming Dao immediately!” Ethan Ruan said jokingly: “They are really close!”

TTV/SETTV’s idol drama “Fated To Love You” really hit it. In the drama, the ups and downs of the relationship between Ji Cun Xi (Ethan Ruan) and Chen Xin Yi (Chen Qiao En) and the conflicted feelings between them successfully captured the audience’s hearts. During last Sunday’s episode, Chen Qiao En nearly had a miscarriage and was hospitalized, causing Ji Cun Xi who is staying at Anna’s home to secretly go home to visit her. Jimmy Lin visiting schools in quake disaster area

Reporters came to the temporary tent city for quake victims in 都江堰市. The tent city school opens today. One 4th grade teacher told us that there are 200 studnets and all the teachers are volunteers. Jimmy Lin and 5 other stars came to the 1st and 2nd grade classroom. The students were very excited to see him and surrounded him asking for autographs. Some stood on the tables and tried very hard to press their books and pencils to jimmy’s face.

On 5/25/08 Jimmy Lin and 5 other stars flew into Chengdu, Sichuan to participate in the “5.12 Youth Charity – Star Volunteers action”.

Jimmy told the children in the disaster area: “I hope that you won’t give up. Don’t be discouraged. There are more work to be done in the future. Our homes need rebuilding and we will be by your side.”
The star volunteers got psychiatric training from professionals after they got to Chengdu. They will travel to several schools in the disaster area between 5/25 and 5/27 to comfort the students. They will also record their experiences in their blogs to spread the message of care and love.

More Donations for Quake Relief as Engines Roar

Action film star Jet Li took a break on Sunday from his relief work in quake-hit Sichuan Province and led a fund-raising car race in Shanghai.

The One Foundation Cup charity race, named after Jet Li's disaster-relief foundation, raised 700,000 yuan (US$100,846) with the help of its star-heavy racer roster. It was the latest effort by the One Foundation which has so far contributed more than 56 million yuan (US$8 million) since the deadly earthquake on May 12.

The emphasis on winning was downplayed at the race, which was held at the Shanghai International Circuit, while racers and onlookers highlighted their best wishes for quake survivors. While supermodel Chen Juanhong and actor Carlo Ng won the female and male games respectively, they held their arms high when receiving the trophies, a gesture to mourn the dead and encourage the living.

Outside the racing track, spectators flooded a reception center to sign their wishes on a huge banner, which will be presented to survivors in Sichuan.

Jet Li said earlier while volunteering in Chengdu, Sichuan's provincial capital, that he has prepared for long-term reconstruction effort in quake zones, and would stay away from the silver screen throughout the year.

The Beijing-based One Foundation recently set up an office in Chengdu to help its staff better carry out relief work.

Jackie Chan Plans Film on China Quake

Hong Kong action hero Jackie Chan said he wanted to make a film about the massive earthquake which hit China earlier this month to raise money for victims.

Chan is best known for action-packed blockbusters like the Rush Hour series but said the new project would represent a change of tone because he had been so deeply affected by what happened in his homeland.

The official death toll from the quake, which hit Sichuan province on May 12, is now over 55,000. It is China's worst disaster in a generation.

"Tomorrow we have big meeting with some directors, some scriptwriters - why? I want to make the movie about the earthquake because there's so many touching stories," an emotional Chan told a press conference in London.

"Every story I've seen just makes me cry ... I believe there's so, so many touching stories so tomorrow we're going to have a big meeting to see what happens.

"I want through the movie to show the whole world, I really want to salute the whole army of China, really."

He added that the movie would "raise money for charity".

Chan has donated $US1.5 million ($A1.57 million) dollars to help earthquake victims and vowed to help rebuild schools affected by the disaster.

Jay Chou's Chongqing concert ends, raised 30 million to rebuild the disaster area

Yesterday night "Jay Chou's charity concert in Chongqing" was held at the Olympics Centre in Chongqing. Before the opening, after donating 500,000 earlier Jay Chou donated another 1 million yuan to the earthquake disaster area. On the night entrepreneurs, fans and people from all walks of life gave to charity, at the venue they raised over 29 million yuan, all of it will go to the Chongqing Charity Federation to help rebuild the disaster area.

Jay Chou arrived in Chongqing on the 23rd of May to prepare for his concert, he announced the concert had been changed to a charity performance, the commercial events and celebration party after the concert were all cancelled.

Yesterday night at Jay Chou's concert, Julie Su and Zhou Hui both participated in performing. Julie Su sang "Hold Hands", "Dear Baby", the lyrics affected everyone's feelings, the 40,000 people offstage all sang together. Zhou Hui on the other hand sang "Promise" and "Don't Cry" to comfort everyone, original guest performers Nan Quan Mama also changed songs and performed "Not Far From Home".
