Three Dads One Mum posts double-digit rating in rivals absence

In the absence of it’s two main rivals, SBS “On Air” and MBC “Who Are You”, KBS2TV “Three Dads One Mum” drama posted a double-digit rating yesterday in the Wed-Thus timeslot, it’s highest since it’s debut.

According to AGB Nielsen, Episode 3 of “Three Dads One Mom” obtained a rating of 13.3%. Compared to 5.5% last week, it was an increase of 7.8%.

Due to the 18th General Elections in Korea yesterday, SBS and MBC provided coverage of that and stopped showing their scheduled programs. This resulted mainly in the ratings spike for “Three Dads One Mum”. Despite boasting of a cast consisting of Eugene, Jo Hyun Jae, Jae Hee, Shin Sung Rok and the unique topic of sperm donation, it was unable to post a good rating because of “On Air” strong showing. With it going past 10% last night, it remains to be seen whether it can sustain it’s momentum going into tonight’s ratings battle.

Heavenly king on heavenly king, Andy Lau personally expresses: "If Jay Chou becomes a director again and wants me to act, I'm willing."

There have been rumours that the movie "Sword A-Bi" wants to get Andy Lau and Jay Chou together, for the first time Andy confirms that they have talked about it, but he hopes that if there is a movie where he works with Jay Chou, it must be like when he worked with Tony Leung in "Infernal Affairs", becoming a milestone in movies, "Sword A-Bi" doesn't really have this kind of feeling.

Director Chou once publicly expressed how he hopes to work with Andy Lau, Andy Lau said: "I also want to, with a topic of like 2 singers or 2 people from completely different places." Andy Lau really looks forward to Jay Chou being a director again and he thinks he will do well, but for himself he doesn't want to be a boss for filming movies again, because right now Chinese movies have to fight the Asian markets outside of Hong Kong, being a boss you have to spend a lot of effort and time.

Miriam Yeung ends contract with TVB, Wednesday

Miriam Yeung Chin-Wah has decided not to extend her contract deal with Television Broadcasting Limited (TVB), her original contract ended this month. During the two month period in negotiation, TVB had tried to convince Miriam to stay in by offering to do a dedicated special programs to promote her next album. She did not take the deal that was a generous offer by TVB.

Sina.com reported that Miriam was upset in January, 2008 at the 2007 Jade Solid Gold Top 10 singers award show over the two awards that she should have won. The awards for Best Female Singer and Asia's Best Female Singer instead went to Joey Yung and Twins. She was very dissatisfied with the result, although she did won a Top 10 Pop song in 2007 award. Her music company, AMusic, was also dissatisfied about the result that they canceled the after show party in a result of a protest.

It was rumored that Miriam was angry because she had worked so hard for TVB, by performing, presenting (like Minutes to Fame III), advertising, and acting in cameo roles. Many thought that she had her chance to take some of the of the top Jade Solid Gold prizes in her achievements.

She has now move on away from TVB hands. Miriam is following footsteps from other major artist who had work with TVB and ended with their TVB contract such as Jack Cheng, Aaron Kwok, Kelly Cheng, Gigi Leung, Sammi Cheng, etc. Most recently Miriam was appear on the rival television stations like Cable TV Hong Kong for a public function.

After the sex picture scandal, many have questioned whether Nicholas Tse and Cecilia Cheung’s marriage have come to a crisis. Yesterday, the couple were at Thailand Airport and appeared to be very close and positive. They appeared to be holding hands together. Their son Lucas was taken care of by their maid. This evidence showed that the couple were still very close and inseparable. This was also the couple’s debut appearance together.

Edison’s scandal had caused a lot of gossip almost everywhere. This led to Cecilia and Nicholas’s relationship being the spotlight of the event. The Paparazzi have been following there whereabouts ever since the scandal. Nicholas went to Thailand for a costume fitting for the movie “Wind & Cloud 2”. While there were reports of Cecilia carrying Lucas around places in Thailand. This had led more paparazzi to hit Thailand. It wasn’t until yesterday that the media got a glance of the couple at Thailand airport preparing to aboard to Hong Kong.
Cecilia was wearing a cap and black shades. The airport had many gates and they marched into a gate where there was only one reporter that approached them. Nicholas immediately muttered “Well, only one reporter? “ Suddenly there was a scene of chaos as the paparazzi rushed out of other gates to approach the couple. Although the couple had male and female airline security, Nicholas still didn’t feel comfortable about Lucas’s safety. He jokes to the media “ You better not bash into my son or I won’t let you off” His assistant also joked “You don’t even let off a baby? Then starts to play with Lucas, making him giggle. Not sure whether the weather was too hot but Lucas appeared to have eczema all over his face.

Because there was too much paparazzi taking pictures, Cecilia and Nicholas were over crowded and lost each other. Nicholas had to shout to Cecilia in order for her to find him and they held hands tightly. Cecilia looked down and did not say a word.
Nicholas did not respond to any questions until he was asked whether he had fun in Thailand with his wife? He responded “We came over here to work, not to have fun.”

They got to the end of the gate and Nicholas smiled “See you all in Hong Kong”. Cecilia was then seen carrying Lucas.
Accordingly to the original plan, Nicholas had further costume fittings. But for unknown reasons the production team had allowed him to go back to Hong Kong early.

The couple were also flying on different aircrafts. He was eager to change his ticket last night to enable them to fly together, but there were no seats available. But the good thing was there was only a 20 minute gap in departing time for each aircraft. Nevertheless it was a warm and touching moment to see them so close together.

Fahrenciti Event

On April 6th, 2008 the fahrenciti and international fan club was a sucess. To many people, this must have been unforgetable. Beside the help of the fans, there is also the encouragement and the warmness from their partners. Without you guys, this event wouldn't have been so unforgetable.

Of course, the most suprising thing was the four boys after watching their memories from the VCR. At first, they were smiling while thinking about their past, but after seeing the support they have they couldn't help but turn their eyes red. The first was the always the "seeming to never show his weakness" Wu Chun's father showing Wu Chun his caringness and telling him to take care of his body and go for a health check.

Next is Calvin. He mentioned that he never thought his strict father would let the company record this tape. Calvin was filled with emotions and after seeing his father on the video, he said "Isnt that the company's red sofa? How did you get my father to go to the company?" After calming down and listening to how Calvin got into this career and his father's hope for him, his eyes turned red and breathed hard to keep his tears inside.

Now its the faithful son Jiro. In the video, Wang Mama told Jiro two of her most important things in her life. The first thing was, marrying Jiro's father. The second thing was having Jiro. This made us all very emotional. After hearing this, Jiro was very happy but it was hard to stop crying.

Lastly is the one who is busily acting in the Clue Collector, Aaron. Aaron's mom told him in the video that he was the pride of the family. Because of his injury acting up again and his emotions, he began to cry. When all the other members saw his condition, they forgot about their own tears and helped Aaron calm down. (The company wanted the members to listen to the encouragment of their family and have a positive attitiude and energy and not make them cry! Oh no! Hope everyone will forgive this and hope that all the members will be able to share the sadness and happyness. If this made you guys cry too, then sorry!)

Jiro was so busy with fimling he sacraficed his bonding time with his mom and made his mom worry to wait for him before going to sleep. The always seeming to be strong Wu Chun couldn't help but go back and wipe his tears. But because of the host's encourgament, the four members hugged each other and cried.

Drama “Spotlight” (Son Ye Jin, Ji Jin Hee) took pictures for promoting

On April 7, new drama of MBC “Spotlight” has taken pictures for promoting at MBC’s studio.

Drama “A Single Dad in Love” finished broadcasting with low rating

Monday and Tuesday’s evening drama of KBS “A Single Dad in Love” finished broadcasting in the evening of April 8 with rating 4.4% (TNS, a sad result for the efforts of main casts such as Oh Ji Ho, Huh Yi Tae and Kang Seong Yeon).

”A Single Dad in Love” is about the love between father and son which is a rare subject in Korean films, so that this drama had paid the attention of audience before broadcasting. However, after broadcasting, the drama had received many bad comments because of the tasteless content and agonistic detail. Its rating also stopped at 4% that is the lowest rating in dramas which are broadcasted since the beginning of 2008.

In addition, ratings of two dramas broadcasted at the same time have the increasing tendency. Rating of drama “Lee San” (MBC) from 30% in the previous evening increased to 32.5% last night. And rating of drama “I Love You” (SBS) had 1.5% higher than the first episode, reached 9.1%.

Ayumi Hamasaki (rumoured to have) regained sense of hearing

Mainichi started off by reporting on her concert held on the night of 8th April 2008. During the encore almost 12000 fans sang “Who…” in unison as a surprise for Ayumi Hamasaki. Drama “I love you” starts out with a not so good rating

SBS’s new drama “I love you” has been expected by audience that is based on a same name popular manhwa by Huh Young Man and is attracted by the appearance of famous casts such as Ahn Jae Wook, Suh Ji Hye, Fany…

However, after the broadcast of its first episode last night on April 7, I love you’s rating only got 7,1% which is far behind the rating of last episode of The King and I that aired in previous night — 19.7%.

In addition, after the broadcast of the first episode, there appear two opposite ideas on the drama’s official website. Some people believe that the drama brings a fresh feeling compared to the manhwa, while others say that it’s not as interesting as the manhwa.

Yesterday noon, Sammul Chan and Leila Tong arrived at Shanghai to promote their series , they shared with fans their filming experiences. Sammul Chan praised the female actresses in the series: "This time, the female actresses I worked with are very easy-going, thus we could communicate well during filming and enjoy the filming." What Leila Tong remember is the scene where she fell into the water. She said: "It was winter and this scene was taken at 12am, really freezing until I was like a human popsicle." Maybe it's because she had to withstand cold while filming, after the filming ended, Leila went for a tour in Thailand, and enjoy the beach and sun.

When taking a group photo, Sammul Chan, the joker, made some hand signs (like cow) and teased Leila, and at the end managed to get a laugh from the audiences. When the function ended, all the fans were reluctant to part with Sammul and Leila, and quickly asked for their autographs and pictures together, then crowded around their car to wave goodbye. At that time, Sammul Chan was continuing being a joker, and made a victory sign. On another location, Sun Xing and Xiao Wei from the same series were at the cultural centre on Xin Hua road and sharing their filming experiences with the audiences.
