Hsiao Hung Jen's first single gets Jay Chou to direct MV

Hsiao Hung Jen has got a lot of face to be able to invite heavenly king Jay Chou to film the MV for his first single "Watch The Sleeves Go Down", Jay Chou praised newcomer Hsiao Hung Jen for acting "natural", the song he's written is easy to listen to and happy, he wished his album would definitely sell 200,000 copies!

To place the main focus on newcomer Hsiao Hung Jen in 2008 Sony BMG are releasing his album on the 23rd of May, for Hsiao Hung Jen this time Sony BMG especially invited, singer-songwriter and director Jay Chou to film the MV; the reason is because this time in Hsiao Hung Jen's new song "Watch The Sleeves Go Down" it mainly uses Mandarin, Taiwanese and English that modern youths usually use to express their views on modern society; and in a lot of Jay Chou's songs it is about the common people's views on society. Add to that Jay Chou's ideas on combining music and video then it gives fans a fresh and creative feeling, that's why the record company thought that only Jay Chou could film this MV, he is the only one who can direct it! But due to the fact he hardly films MVs for other people, unless it's really good music he won't do it, therefore they gave Hsiao Hung Jen's "Watch The Sleeves Go Down" to Jay Chou to "enjoy" while he was promoting in Mainland China, after listening to it Jay Chou immediately responded, he immediately accepted the directing job to film Hsiao Hung Jen's MV; Jay Chou said that after listening to Hsiao Hung Jen's new song repeatedly, it got better and better to listen to, not only this but it's happy listening to his song! And this time is the only other time besides helping Nan Quan Mama and good friends S.H.E. film MVs, it is also the first time filming an MV for a newcomer from another company, you can say he's affirmed Hsiao Hung Jen's music! Being able to obtain this collaboration, besides the record company being happy, Hsiao Hung Jen happily said that being able to get Asia heavenly king Jay Chou to film his MV even before he has released his album, he just feels very excited and lucky, this has given him great encouragement and affirmation!

The busy Jay Chou did everything personally; from listening to the song, the creation of the MV script, creation of backdrops, discussion meetings and also personally guiding actors on the filming set, also adjusting the lighting effects, he did it all himself, you can tell from this the importance of this newcomer to Jay Chou! Due to the fact "Watch The Sleeves Go Down" is a combination of Mandarin, Taiwanese and English youthful rock song, because of this besides getting a rock band into the MV, Jay Chou also targeted the disorderly view of youths towards society the song describes, mainly he put the emphasis on the newcomer's mysteriousness and used society to get the main theme across, besides having the male and female lead appear now and again, the record company spent big on the backdrops, making Jay Chou smile and say that this newcomer Hsiao Hung Jen is very lucky, it's just his first MV and they are already using male and female leads and spending big on backdrops you can tell how valuable the record company see him as, on my side I wish his album will sell 200,000 copies!

In the MV, Jay Chou let Hsiao Hung Jen play himself, playing an artist releasing an album riding on a moped to stick up promotional posters; at the set besides having his eye on the little screen Jay Chou often went over to Hsiao Hung Jen to tell him what expression and movement to use; and after Jay Chou's guidance, from originally being stiff he gradually got good at it, making Jay Chou praise his acting as "natural"; Jay Chou smiled saying that originally the record company didn't want there to be too many scenes of his performance in the MV, but I felt Hsiao Hung Jen's performed very well, very natural, to a newcomer, "being natural" is very important! After getting to know Jay Chou personally Hsiao Hung Jen thinks the feeling he gives people onscreen is about the same, even though he's cool and doesn't say much, but he's friendly, the important thing was that he got to know the Asia heavenly king he sees on TV for one day, it's just too miraculous!

Jay Chou, whose always more cautious when filming MVs for others, said that it's faster getting to the feeling he wants when he's filming his own MVs because he's got a visual and idea when he's writing the song, but when filming MVs for other artists he would have to listen to the song repeatedly and discuss ideas with others before he could ignite different fireworks. After the filming, Jay Chou didn't forget to give Hsiao Hung Jen a suggestion; Jay Chou said that it's important for newcomers to have some mystery, plus Hsiao Hung Jen's writing has a lot of his own style and he's tall enough (182cm), just standing out he won't lose to anyone! At the end Jay Chou joked saying that he has nothing to be worried about if he has this MV.

Janine Chang’s funny dance move; Joe Cheng standing straight and ready to kick,

The main casts of [Honey and Clover] has form the band called CLOVER and for 2 weeks they have been secretly practicing their dance moves for their upcoming 10 concerts tour around the schools. About who still needs to improve more? Eddie Peng said: [For our 10 performances, Janine Chang will have 10 different new dance moves!] has somehow derided this elegant beauty.

Because Chiaki Ito is in Japan so Joe Cheng, Janine Chang, Eddie Peng and Lego Li has especially make a request to the crew member to provide a life size human board on the set. They’ve also recorded the dancing session and plan to send it to Japan so that she could practice the dance moves too.

Even though everyone has to act funny in the series but they are quite determine when it was their time to practice their dance moves and they have developed a very good tacit understanding among each other. During the practice session they strain their back, knocking over the microphone, going to the wrong places, knocking each other or almost fall off the stage to humor themselves and the onlookers. Zheng Yuan Chang said: [Because we are the funniest, craziest band in history so when we make our appearance, we will have a standard movement and that will be using 2 arms to form a hear-shaped, 2 legs to form the shape of an O and do the up-and-down movements twice!]

By the time the press session has ended, all the casts were very hungry and pushed Zheng Yuan Chang to go to the nearest fast food restaurant to buy some burgers. Maybe it was due to their previous overly excited performances, Zheng Yuan Chang’s funny adrenaline still remain in his body. He keeps making funny faces at Eddie Peng who was standing beside him before entering the fast food restaurant. When they finally came out from the restaurant, he still continue to make big movements with his arms and like ready to kick or something, it seems that he really did have some [acting cells] in him.

On 18th May the main cast of the idol series [Honey and Clover] Joe Cheng, Eddie Peng, Tarcy Su, David Chen, Lego Li and other cast had make an appearance at the 2008 Taiwan’s tourism exhibition to promote their series. The production of [Honey and Clover] has brought the cast to Japan to film part of their scene. During the filming in Japan, the male lead Joe Cheng has learned how to make Udon. That day during the promotion, Xiao Zhong also had a live demonstration of how to slice up the Udon; while the female lead, Tarcy Su also joins the crowd by showing off her cutting skills. Whether her cutting skill is good or bad, that will depend on people’s own point of view!

Jang Nara Donates Money to Help Earthquake Victims in China

Hallyu star Jang Nara has donated 150,000 dollars to a charity organization in China for the rescue of disaster victims and the restoration of Sichuan Province, which was recently hit by a devastating earthquake. Jang has worked with the same charity organization in the past to help Leukemia patients.

Jang's father, who is based in Beijing, said in a recent telephone interview with the Yonhap News Agency that the situation in China is appalling and that his daughter plans to continue with her relief efforts in collaboration with members of her fanclub.

He also asked fellow Koreans to join hands in helping the victims of the recent earthquake in China and to refrain from criticizing her daughter.

He added that although relations between Seoul and Beijing may seem to have cooled in recent days due to the clash which occurred when the Olympic torch was passing through Seoul, it was important to help China's suffering victims in times of trouble.

In the meantime, Jang will leave for Southeast Asian countries, including Malaysia and Singapore, to promote her latest album next month. The artist is considering accepting a film role once she gets back from her promotional tour.

Dressed as fundraising telephone workers, Jay Chou afraid of a slip of the pen and asks for help

Jay Chou, Jolin Tsai and Jam Xiao were the telephone workers for the "Send Out Your Love" show on the 18th, Jay Chou sat next to first lady Zhou Mei Qing, sitting next to a big figure and not being familiar with the process made him nervous, the presenter Zhang Xiao Yan asked him who was the guest sitting on his left? He cleverly answered: "Lady Zhou!"

Before Jay Chou went on, the workers told him there was a script on the table, all he has to do is ask about the caller's donation details and personal details. After listening to his first call, he turned around for help from the workers, he said hurriedly: "What should I do? Does it matter if I write it wrong?" Who could have thought that after hearing a few more calls, he once again turned around asking for help, he nervously said: "The volume on the phone is really low, what if I write my number wrong?" He was worried about his own slips of the pen affecting the donation process, in the half hour he was receiving calls, he was extremely nervous. When asked about his first impression on the first lady, he expressed that she took taking fundraising calls very seriously.

L'Arc to rest until 2011?

Rock band L'Arc~en~Ciel is still in the middle of an international tour that started in April and ends next month, but reports have emerged that they won't be performing again until 2011.

The speculation was born from a newspaper ad that mentioned the group's new single this summer and a concert titled "2011 NEXT LIVE 20th L'Anniversary Live." Since the show is scheduled for the band's big anniversary three years from now, the word "next" appears to suggest that fans may not hear from them for a long time. However, even if their next concert isn't until 2011, it doesn't necessarily mean that they won't be active as a band.

Some believe that the members of L'Arc plan to use the three years to work on their own solo projects, but nothing official has been stated by the band or their management so far.
