Oricon CD Singles Daily Charts - Hamasaki Ayumi takes the #1 spot

NOTE: Hamasaki Ayumi’s 10th Anniversary is grand with a #1 CD single with “Mirrorcle World”. Pony Canyon’s Shuchishin takes the #2 and ZARD unreleased track “Tsubasa wo Hirogete” is finally released. The song was actually written many years ago and meant to be the second CD single for the group DEEN but was never released. The song is used as the theme song for the anime “Meitantei Conan”. L’Arc~en~Ciel drops from #1 to #7 and Aoyama Thelma continues to stay strong with her January 2008 CD single release which is still in the top 10.

Gong Li Urges World People to Protect Environment as UNEP Ambassador

The Chinese movie star Gong Li has been invited by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) to be Global Environmental Ambassador, and to urge the public to give up bad habits that are harmful to the environment and to reduce the discharge of carbon dioxide.

In order to promote environmental protection awareness throughout the world, the UNEP has invited three international celebrities from film, arts and business sectors. In addition to Gong Li, the Grammy Award-winning Beninese singer and songwriter Angelique Kidjo and Virgin Atlantic Airways chief Richard Branson have also been invited as ambassadors and to take part in environmental protection posters, which will be officially released on World Environment Day, on June 5th of this year.

Wu Zun will meet up with Ah Sa

Wuzun arrived in Hong Kong on Wednesday night to promote his new movie. On Air gets an extension on the basis of strengthening the romance story

The production company for SBS “On Air” has announced that they would be adding doing a drama extension. According to sources from SBS and production, three more episodes will be added making it a total of 23 episodes.

The ratings for “On Air” on average has been over the 20% mark and is currently the highest rated drama in the Wed-Thus timeslot. With viewers clamouring for more romance scenes between Kim Ha Neul, Lee Bum Soo and Park Yong Ha (so this means Song Yun Ah was never in the picture?!), the original 20-parter will get an extension of 3 more episodes. Their reason: To better flesh out the triangle love story and make the drama more perfect.

They added, “From the initial conceptualisation, we wanted viewers to see how a television station functioned in reality. So we didn’t include too many romance scenes. But like how the initial drama name was (One-sided love), the relationships between the main leads is also an important part of the story. So it’s essential that we have this drama extension to flesh out the romance to make it more complete. We haven’t decide on the intricate details yet but we will try our best to accomodate our viewers wishes.”
