Watching Jay Chou in the rain in Nanjing

Even though it didn't stop raining yesterday but it seems like it didn't affect Jay Chou's concert at all. There were no empty seats at the 60,000 capacity Olympics Centre, a few audience members couldn't find parking spaces, all they could do was leave their cars on the road. Jay Chou didn't disappoint anyone, he danced and sung, causing constant screams from the audience.

Yesterday it rained all day in Nanjing, there were notably less people on the streets, but there was no decrease in the number of people going to see Jay Chou's concert.

Yesterday night, when reporters rushed to the Olympics Centre they discovered that due to the fact there were too many fans who came to see Jay Chou, a bunch of cars went in the direction of the Olympics Centre and caused a traffic jam. The big car park of the Olympics Centre was filled up, a lot of audience members left their cars on the side of the road, taking up two traffic lanes.

The atmosphere in the concert was even more lively, the 60,000 capacity Olympics Centre was full. Watching the stage, nearly all of the audience had light sticks, it makes watching the stage like a large ship with lights, a spectacular sight. In the venue, the audience held up umbrellas, and wore raincoats to watch the concert. Due to the fact the umbrellas of the front rows blocked the view, the audience from the back ran to the side of the front rows in order to get closer to their idol, they were even willing to stand for 3 hours to watch the concert.

Jay Chou did not disappoint the audience, on the stage he showed off his 18 kinds of martial arts. The concert just started, Jay Chou wore a "Golden Armour", and sang "Golden Armour" when he appeared onstage. When Jay Chou sang the songs "Black Humour" and "The Longest Movie", he played the piano, he played and sang with deep feelings. The only flaw was that the accompanying music was too loud covering Jay Chou's piano sound, this made a lot of fans regretful. After guest stars Nan Quan Mama went onstage, Jay Chou did the robot dance with them. When Jay Chou performed "Compendium of Materia Medica", Jay Chou played diabolo. Even though he expressed many times that his skill at diabolo is very amateurish but yesterday night he was very confident, his moves were skilled and refined, a lot of the audience were attracted to taking and photo of this moment to commemorate.

When he was singing "Listen To Mother's Words", Chow Yun Fat suddenly appeared on the big screen, all you can see is Chow Yun Fat facing the camera and making a bunch of weird expressions. The audience firstly screamed and then started laughing. After Chow Yun Fat's performance, the God of Songs Jacky Cheung appeared on the big screen. He used his unique voice and sang the line "Listen to mother's words, don't let her get hurt", this once again made the audience scream.

'Forbidden Kingdom' Rules the Box Office

Jackie Chan and Jet Li may be getting old, but they packed a lot of punch into the box office this weekend. The Forbidden Kingdom, the first movie to pair the martial arts legends, fought its way to a victory, while the R-rated romantic comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall finished a strong second in a hotly contested race that helped boost the cumulative box office to its best result in several weeks.

The Asian action fantasy grossed a better-than-expected $20.9 mil, according to Sunday's estimates. That's Jackie Chan's best debut ever for a non-Rush Hour movie, and it's Jet Li's top premiere after 1998's Lethal Weapon 4, in which he had a supporting role. What's more, it's among the biggest openings ever for any martial-arts flick, and the highest one since Kill Bill Vol. 2 bowed with $25.1 mil in early 2004. With a kid-friendly plot and PG-13 rating (it was directed by Rob Minkoff, who also helmed movies like The Lion King and Stuart Little), The Forbidden Kingdom was able to draw in a young crowd, which accounted for fully half of its business and no doubt boosted box office. That audience gave the movie a strong A- CinemaScore grade, the best among all new releases, which suggests that the film should have more financial kick in the weeks to come.
