Yan Cheng Xu Is No. 1

Sold Overseas Copyright For NT 70Millions
Yan Cheng Xu Is No. 1 In Treasure Finding

It was reported after the serious and reserved Yan Cheng Xu concentrated on the filming of Hot Shot, he has received a lot of offers and invitation for new drama projects, especially GTV's.

Yan Cheng Xu put in his whole effort when filming Hot Shot. Although there were injuries here and there, overseas copyright has been sold for NT70 millions, even before the drama is broadcasted. This made GTV which owns its copyright super happy, and hopes to invite Yan Cheng Xu to join with Joe Cheng and Lin Yi Chen in another drama, relying on Yan Cheng Xu's high popularity overseas for continuous profits making.

Hot Shot played by Yan Cheng Xu just finished filming and it is planned to be broadcasted in October on GTV. Although it is not broadcasted, overseas copyright has been sold for NT70 millions (NT100,000 per episode with 22 episodes). This made GTV earn lots of profits and realize Yan Cheng Xu's high popularity overseas. Because of Yan Cheng Xu's overseas market value, GTV is going to work with him again and to make him the No. 1 of GTV.

GTV, which has usual cast including Fahrenheit, Joe Cheng, Show Luo, Zhang Shao Han, Lin Yi Chen, has full confidence in Yan Cheng Xu's potential in the international markets, so it has targeted him to team with Joe Zheng and Lin Yi Chen in an upcoming idol drama, Skip Beat (Hua Li Di Tiao Zhan in Chinese), which is adapted from a comic series from Japan and will start filming in October. The script will be tailored by the writer team of They Kiss Again. Regarding Lin Yi Chen's other drama project, Paper Rose (Zhi Mei Gui in Chinese), although it is temporary set with another actor, actually the production team has another candidate in mind that GTV won't give up the hope yet. The start filming of Paper Rose will postpond to February next year. If Yan Cheng Xu's schedule is open at that time, he is hoped to join the team.

All these plans and offers have shown Yan Cheng Xu's status in the GTV administrators' hearts. When Hot Shot is broadcasted in October, it is going to be vs Ranine Yang and Pan Wei Bo's Bu Liang Xiao Hua. However, most people have more confidence in Hot Shot.

During the filming of Hot Shot, Yan Cheng Xu maintained good relationship with GTV's administrators. Therefore, when the rumors of his pretending injury to delay the ending filming and playing big to be absent from the celebration dinner came out, it was not just Yan Cheng Xu who felt frustrating, even GTV's administrators felt sorry and unfair for him.

According to source, when filming Hot Shot, a big Asian movie invested by Japanese which is similar to A Battle Of Wits (a movie by Andy Lau) offered him NT20 millions to join the cast. As the filming time overlapped with the final stage of Hot Shot's filming, he turned it down with pity. Besides, he also turned down 3 endorsement offers from Mainland China with the fee of NT10 millions for each. Because of the filming of Hot Shot, he has lost another NT30 millions.

Although the lost was great, Yan Cheng Xu preferred to concentrate on the filming Hot Shot. However, it ended up that he was surrounded by rumors of his being big. For sure, Yan Cheng Xu is not happy himself. On the other hand, this made GTV and HS' production team kind of nervous and they are afraid that they won't be able to work with Yan Cheng Xu again because of the rumors, and it leads to the loss of the key factor for expanding the overseas markets, such as Japan and Korea.

Actually what annoyed Yan Cheng Xu was that timewise, he stayed with the production team like an extra (kkla: meaning standing by all the time). Because of the filming of Hot Shot, he requested the F4 Japan concerts being postponded from March to October and delayed the start filming of Starlit.

Hot Shot's director, Lin He Long, indicates that Yan Cheng Xu is the most serious actor he has worked with , including Show Luo, He Jun Xiang, Wu Zun, etc... During the filming, Yan Cheng Xu didn't have any temper outbursts at all. When compared with Show Luo, Yan Cheng Xu is more reserved, but both worked hard. In order not to delay the filming, after he was knocked down by another player, he continued filming only after a brief ice treatment, and this led to the big swelling of his neck. We could see him use the pain relieving spray a lot afterwards.

Comic's (Wu Zun's agency, not Chai's) Assistant General Manager, Wang Gui Xin, indicates, "Jerry is the model of our Fahrenheit. He only requested to be absent for one day due to toothache, when Show Luo had requested to be absent for about 7 days due to different commercial performance and endorsement activities. Even our Wu Zun had requested more days off than him (Jerry), therefore, the rumors of playing big is very unfair to him."

GTV's General Manager, Lai Cong Bi, said strictly, "If there is opportunity, we would absolutely like to work with Yan Cheng Xu again, as he totally cooperated with the production team and left out his schedule just for the filming, and his professionalism is super admirable."

Yan Cheng Xu's agency, Dramadream, indicates that recently Yan Cheng Xu takes care of his "injuries" (kkla: don't know the reporter meant physically or emotionally as the word injuries was quoted) while reading Starlit's script and practising piano about 2-3 hours a day.

In Starlit, he will play in another love story after Meteor Garden. He is going to totally differentiate his new character from DMS, playing the sadden prince, Cheng Yue, with a few crying scenes. Because of the experiences from the rumors, this "Golden Goose" will fall in the sadden mode of his character more easily.
